The Kearney Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program (KTHRP) is a non-profit service organization dedicated to fostering the physical and mental well-being of individuals with special needs.
The KTHRP generates the majority of operational costs through the generous donations of our sponsors and supporters through 3 primary avenues:
- Independent donations to the capital fund
- Fool's Night Out annual game night event
- Give-to-Ride annual pledge campaign
Independent donations:
- Independent donations may be designated to a particular activity/event/item or to the general fund.
Fool's Night Out:
- Fool's Night Out is an annual event to benefit the KTHRP and support its annual operation costs including feed, special saddles, helmets, horse care, and instruction.
Give-to-Ride:
- Funds raised through the Give-to-Ride annual pledge campaign will be used to support rider scholarships, horse care, and program maintenance.
If you are interested in making a financial donation to the KTHRP, please contact Carter at carter@kthrp.com; 308.224.1236; or mail donations to:

Financial oversight of KTHRP is provided by the Kearney Area Community Foundation. All horses, equipment, and future assets are the property of Kearney Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program; director/therapists have no current or future ownership of KTHRP assets. Donations exceeding annual expenditures contribute to the capital fund with the goal of building an indoor riding arena to provide year-round services.
